IDEA 2020 stands for Innovation and Development for Agriculture, with reference to the strategic document "Europe 2020" that indicates a path for the development combining virtuously innovation, environmental sustainability and social cohesion.

In this scenario, IDEA 2020 carries out a multifunctional vision in agricultural and rural development projects and initiatives through a multidisciplinary expertises in our Team.

The definition of multifunctional agriculture used by the OECD associates multifunctionality with specific characteristics of the agricultural production process and its outputs, which may or may not be full awareness. It is performed for agriculture both market oriented and livelihoods or self-consumption.

IDEA 2020 cooperates in partnership with local, national and international relevant stakeholders to promote agricultural and rural development projects and initiatives based on the principles of economic, environmental and social sustainability.

Saverio Senni

Saverio Senni is associate professor at the Tuscia University where he teaches “Rural Development Economics and Policy” and “Principles of Forestry Economics”, and acts as Rector Delegate for disabled students.

His research focuses on the role of agriculture in rural development processes, and since ten years ago he began to explore the social and inclusive role of agricultural practices. In this context, he took part in several Italian and European projects and represented Italy in the Management Committee of the European COST Action "Green Care in Agriculture” (2006-2010) concerning social farming at European level.

In 2012, he was among the founders of IDEA 2020.

 

Stefano Speranza

Entomologist, expert in Integrated Pest Management. Partner in charge of the activities in Central and South America. Assistant Professor of Agriculture and Forest Entomology and IPM  strategies  at Department of Agriculture, Forests, Nature and Energy (DAFNE). Leader of Italy-Argentine Project titled "Use of extract plants of Argentine to use as biopesticides in low impact agriculture management". Italian Leader of Italy-Argentine Project titled "Biological Control of Tuta absoluta" Financed by MAE (Italy) and MinCyt (Argentine).  Scientific Coordinator and researcher in Italian and International Projects on Low Impact system, IPM and biological control of phytophagous pests in agriculture ad forestry and on the use of insects as a protein source for animals and for humans.

Arturo Gianvenuti

Arturo Gianvenuti co-founded Idea2020 - Spin-off of Tuscia University - in 2012. He brings over 10 years of professional experience in agricultural and rural development projects mainly in developing countries to foster a sustainable access to innovative services and appropriate technologies. He is specialized in the implementation of projects in the field of bioenergy, forest resources management, food security and sustainability.

Working along the project management in cross-cultural and international settings, Arturo Gianvenuti was coordinator of several international projects and tecnical advisor for numerous other initiatives on behalf of University of Tuscia, the Food and Agriculture Organization of UN, IRENA and several NGOs.

Arturo Gianvenuti holds a MSc in Agriculture and Technologies Sciences and he acted as researcher at the Department of Economy and Enterprise (DEIM) of the University of Tuscia.

Agronomist with experience in rural development projects relating to security and food sovereignty. He was the coordinator of field activities of a project in Bolivia and the person in charge of agricultural area at the LTU (Local Technical Unit) of the Italian Embassy in New Delhi-India. He carried out activities of drafting, evaluation and monitoring of projects on behalf of NGOs and italian government organizations such as LTU and CTU (Central Technical Unit). 

 

Massimo Romanelli

Since 20 years he works as an expert in Project Management applied to European programmes for Research and Innovation, Education and Training and international Cooperation for Development. He operates as free-lance with the University of Tuscia and Idea 2020 in designing new project proposals in response to calls launched by the EC and by other international Organisations in the field of cooperation for development. Currently is a Project Manager in several projects co-funded by the EC in which the University of Tuscia is the Coordinator or a Partner of international Consortia.
